Daycare Features Overview
We Meet EVERY Work Schedule:
We have extended hours from 6 am–7 pm Monday-Friday with care available until 9 pm upon request.  We also have Saturday parent date nights from 5 pm–9 pm held at least monthly.  Our full time pricing is less expensive per hour than single days; but we also offer single or multiple full days as well as single or multiple half days if your work schedule requires that.

For example you could schedule part time daycare for Monday full day (9.5 hours), Tuesday full day (9.5 hours) and Friday part day (5 hours of care ending before 1 pm or starting after 1 pm).

After we open we will also begin an hourly Drop & Go care which you can schedule a maximum of one week in advance with a three hour per day minimum.

Education:
We are not babysitters – we are educators with the wonderful job of teaching, playing and caring for your child on a regular basis.  We believe education is what you are paying for and we will provide that education in a fun way using our one of a kind facility and arts based curriculum.

♦  Private School Is Included (toddler preschool, preschool for 3's and 4's, private kindergarten)
♦  Art Experiences Daily (Children three years and older receive art lessons)
♦  Sign Language incorporated throughout the entire day
♦  Indoor Gym on our daycare level, for daycare use only (broom hockey, dodge-ball, parachutes, etc.)
♦  Computer Lab
♦  Science Room
♦  Art Room
♦  Cafeteria Area (used by children 3 and older)
♦  Homework Zone (1st grade and up)
♦  Huge Outdoor Play Area
♦  TV is not education.  We use G rated movies only on special events and parent date nights.
♦  Discount for any dance, music, tumbling, art class you want to add to your full time daycare.
♦  FREE Motion Evolution Class for children 2 years and older (see www.motionevolution.com).

Safety & Security:
Our daycare is located on the first floor of the Bravo building in Clearfield.  For the security of the center, we did not build a staircase or elevator to connect the first and second floors.  We have a keypad where each family will be given a code to be able to enter past the lobby.  All other outside doors are locked from outside entrance at all times.

We have windows in our hallways as well as big windows in all doors.  We also have windows inside our classrooms, looking to the classroom next door.  Most classrooms are large enough to have two teachers.  All staff have passed background checks.

Special Features:
Video Email:  We will email you a monthly video of your child in their class.  This is a fun way for you to see some of the fun things we have been doing.  (Each month we video on a different day of the week so if you only come on Monday and Wednesday, you'll get the video less often than a child who comes everyday).

Discounted Add-On Classes: Parents have the ability to add on a dance, music, tumbling or art class for their child.  If your child is enrolled full time in our daycare, you get $5 off every month of any class tuition if we can choose your class time.  This allows busy parents to let their child participate in extra curricular learning experiences while they are still at work!

Vacation Time: Full time families can take two weeks of vacation each year and not pay to hold your daycare spot while you're gone!

Late Pick Up Forgiveness: We understand there are times you can't control being late to pick up your child. You probably understand a teacher needs to be paid for staying late.  However, we give every family one forgiveness card each year (two for Monday-Friday students) where you can pick up your child up to fifteen minutes late without a fee.  Enjoy!

Show Off Nights: We have two “show off” nights each year where your child and teacher prepare a fun art gallery, music program and BBQ (or dessert bar) for your entire family to enjoy!  It's a great chance for parents to see all they have been learning!

Restaurant Kitchen: Our kitchen is nicer than many restaurants which means we can make a higher quality meal for your child.  We also worked with a chef (who knows kids) to design our menu.  We even have a back-up meal available at anytime if your child does not like what we are having.

Coming soon after we open!  Bravo Dinner's To Go.  Take a hot dinner home with you.  It is so much less expensive than eating out and wonderful to just go home and relax after working all day.

Transportation:
We are planning to transport to the following schools for all grades:  Antelope, Bluff Ridge, Buffalo Point, Cook, Syracuse, Syracuse Arts Academy, Elliason Park and North Davis Prep Academy.

We are happy to add transportation to another school for a group of six or more students.  Tell your friends!

Our certified private kindergarten is included in your tuition for the 5 year old daycare class! Instead of having your child go to and from day care to public kindergarten, we can give your child a better education when they stay all day at Bravo. If you are only able to be at Bravo 1-2 days per week, you may still want to consider going to a public school for kindergarten.  If so, we can provide transportation to the schools listed above.

Daycare Director and Teachers:
Our daycare director is Kristina Woolley.   She has her bachelor's degree as well as many years teaching in a private preschool and more recently in Bravo's private kindergarten.  Her primary responsibility at the daycare is to ensure her staff is fully incorporating Bravo's arts based curriculum she helped design.  Bravo has designed individual skill sheets for each child and Kristina will be monitoring your child's progress to ensure their emotional, social, academic, musical, science, math, physical (coordination) and art skills are increasing. She also is there to make sure all children are having the best possible experience at our school as well as listen to and meet the needs of parents.  She works full time at the daycare, so you will get to talk with her often.

Our teachers have all been hired to bring different skills to our team.  Some of our faculty have sign language certificates, some have years of musical training, while others love to interact with kids.  Some have “mom” experience, some love art and others bring years of classroom teaching experience.  Though they are all very unique, they all were hired because they saw our daycare as different and they wanted to help us make a change in the world of daycare.

You may also be interested to know our staff pay raises are based upon longevity, which means we have less staff turnover for the benefit of your child.  Our staff also receives gift cards for excellent feedback from students and parents.  They are motivated and awesome!

Communicating With Your Child's Teacher:
Ideally your child's teacher's schedule and your work schedule would be the same.  However, that is not usually the case.  We know communication with your teacher is key in making your child's education a success, so we have incorporated the following:

#1: Your teacher may be required to work four, ten hour days with hours that slightly shift so they can see you and communicate with you in person.

#2: Your child's teacher is required to provide written feedback monthly on a Bravo card for you.

#3: We have a “mailbox” where any parent (or student) can write a thank you note, concern or question for their teacher at any time.

#4: Our daycare director is always available for appointments or drop by visits to discuss any topic.

#5: Twice yearly your entire family is invited to our “Show Off” Night where your child will get to show you all the great things they've been learning as well as their favorite activities. We will have an art gallery, music program and family BBQ or dessert bar! This fun evening event allows parents to see their child's teacher interact with their child and ask any questions.

Owner's Daycare Mission:
I'm Angy Ford, the owner of Bravo, and I'd like to share with you how the Bravo daycare became a reality.

Eight years ago I started Bravo in Ogden as an educational center for kids to come and have a weekly or bi-weekly class.  It grew quickly and my husband and I bought land in Clearfield in 2007 for a second location.  As we worked on floor plans, my husband kept asking me if I wanted to add a daycare.  I said I did not and kept moving forward in another direction.  Months later my husband said, "if you'll just go and see some daycares in the area I'll stop asking you to start a daycare."  I went to two daycares and called my husband and told him (tearfully) that I would use my skills and knowledge to revolutionize the daycare experience for children.

In the last three years I have visited over fifty daycares across the nation, listening to parents and asking kids lots of questions of what they like and don't like about their daycare.  I have so many ideas and goals for Bravo Daycare.  I look forward to showing them to you and your child!

5 Years Old – Private Kindergarten (age 5 by September 1)
Special Bonuses

Education: Our certified private kindergarten is included in your tuition for the 5 year old daycare class! Instead of having your child go to and from day care to public kindergarten, we can give your child a better education when they stay all day at Bravo. (We will be adding additional grade levels fall of 2011).

Benefits of choosing our private kindergarten versus public school are:

♦  Smaller class sizes (we have 8-10 less students per class than public kindergarten)
♦  Individual skills sheets for your child to advance at their own pace
♦  Nationally accredited program
♦  All healthy snacks and meals are included
♦  Weekly homework assignments to keep parents involved in the learning
♦  Full day kindergarten allows for more learning
♦  Better stocked art supplies, music capabilities, newer computer lab and more.

If you are only able to be at Bravo 1-2 days per week, you may still want to consider going to a public school for kindergarten.  If so, we can provide transportation to the schools listed in the transportation section of daycare overview.

Music: Daily music lessons are offered. Your child will learn about composers, be able to tap rhythms on dozens of percussion instruments and listen to all styles of music.  We teach every music concept through fun interactive games and activities. Also included is a weekly mini piano class where your child will learn note recognition and learn to play a few songs.

Art: We all know that kids love art which is why we offer TWO separate art experiences daily. One will include an actual art lesson where each month we will focus on a different technique such as painting, sketching, chalk, sculpture, etc. The other project will be less structured and more student creations. Some art experiences are not able to go home such as chalk body tracing outside or chocolate pudding drawing, but they will get two experiences every day.

Motion Evolution Class: Our five year old students get a FREE daily Motion Evolution class. This class is often held on the second floor of Bravo in our tumbling gym.  (See www.motionevolution.com for more information about this program).  Your child will learn skills for physical development and other things such as nutritional education.

Science: We have a separate science room where your child will have fun while learning through hands on science experiments such as fizzy foam, color mixing, ziploc explosions and more!  We even do some cooking in our science curriculum.

Sign Language: Our second language that we will be teaching as a part of our program and incorporate daily is sign language. Your kids will love learning to talk with their hands while improving their fine motor skills.  It's amazing to see how many signs they know!

Computers: Your child will enjoy the computer time that they will receive daily. This will not only increase their hand-eye coordination but they will have fun with our educational based learning games.

Homework Zone: Sometimes as a special reward, our private kindergarten gets to use our older kids homework zone!  They will get to listen to stimulating classical music while working on an assignment.

Outdoor: We believe in daily fresh outside air. We have a great outdoor area for the kids to run and play. We are not afraid of snow either. During the winter we will have a great time building lots of snowmen!

Indoor Gym: Your child will have daily gym time where they will get to play lots of games such as Gray Squirrel What Time Is It, Karate Kick, Name That Tune, Egg Toss, Giant Hopscotch and more!

6-12+ Years Old (1st Grade and Older)
Special Bonuses

Fun:  Daycare is better for both you, the parent, and your older child when they like to go.  The bottom line is they do need some watchful care, but mostly need guidance for “what to do next” and someone to start the FUN!

Facility: Our entire daycare facility is great for the younger child, but was truly designed with the older child as the focus.  Below are some of the special areas your child will enjoy.

Indoor Gym:  A huge indoor gym, just for the daycare allows for awesome games such as broom hockey, midnight madness, ultimate frisbee, crab soccer and shooting some hoops.

Computer Lab: A fully stocked computer lab is a fun way to chill out after a long day at school.  We even allow your child to bring their hand-held games to play during the limited daily computer time if it's okay with their parent.  We of course cannot be responsible for lost items.

Art, Science & Music Room:  Our art, science & music room is not about sit down lecture learning, but about hands on try it out.  Each month we have an art technique focus such as water color painting techniques or cartoon drawing or pencil sketching tips where they get to improve their skill at their own pace two times per week.  We also have a science experiment every week which can include a cooking experiment too.  As far as music we do everything from composer jeopardy to creating songs with bells to singing a crazy song! If you don't come everyday, no worries we rotate the activities to fall on a different day each week to ensure you get a chance to do everything within a couple weeks.

Outside Area:  Our facility play area is much larger than required by state laws.  We feel it's important to have ample play space, especially for the older kids as they are growing!  We love playing in the sun as well as the snow! (just not the rain)

Motion Evolution Class:  Our students that are 6-12 years will participate every day in a Motion Evolution class.  (See www.motionevolution.com for more information about this program).  This program is an all encompassing wellness program.  We will focus on aerobics activities, games to help with flexibility and coordination, nutrition education and much more.

Teacher:  Our teacher for the after school program is often the youngest member of our team.  We do this purposefully as they can most easily participate in all the games and be a playmate as well as a teacher.  The director of the daycare will create all lesson plans, so you can rest assured the education in art, music, science, homework zone, computer lab, etc. are educationally focused fun.

Homework Zone: On the opposite side of the computer lab is a retro homework zone where classical music will get them in the mood for homework – well if the music doesn't get them in the mood, the Bravo Buck reward system will (see below).

Bravo Bucks Reward System: Our students in this age group (1st grade and older) are at a point where they can be responsible for the choices they make.  Our Bravo Bucks allows our teachers to reward great choices (finishing homework, getting into the pick-up van quickly from school, being a good friend, completing a class job etc.) with a Bravo Buck.  The students will collect their bucks and get to spend them in the store every month. Not only does this teach budgeting skills as they save up for bigger items, but they can also work as a team as they can combine their bucks to buy special class rewards and parties.
